Trip to Science City & Triumphs at Flower Show 2026

The Science Department of Kamla Nehru College for Women (KNCW) organized a comprehensive educational field trip to Science City on February 28th, 2026, combining the wonders of technology with the beauty of nature. The excursion proved to be a double success, as students not only expanded their scientific horizons but also dominated the leaderboard at the Flower Show 2026.

A major highlight of the excursion was the college’s stellar participation in the Flower Show 2026, where 16 students showcased their horticultural and creative talents across multiple competitive categories. The KNCW team achieved remarkable success, securing the 1st prize in Flower Arrangement, the 3rd prize in Flower Potted, and two consolation prizes in Flower Rangoli.

The talent wasn’t limited to botany; the college’s cultural troupe also left a lasting impression. Both the Cultural Dance by Hardeep & team (B.Sc. Med Sem 2) and the Folk Song by Tanya (B.Sc. Med. Sem 6) received Tokens of Appreciation, honoring the students’ dedication to traditional arts. Following the competitive events, the students transitioned to a deeper exploration of the natural world by visiting the site’s Informative Gallery to gain insights into various plant and animal species.

Principal Dr. Savinder Pal expressed immense pride in these achievements and the students’ versatile talents. She warmly congratulated all the faculty members and students for their hard work and commitment, noting that such experiences empower students with practical knowledge and a renewed appreciation for both the arts and environmental sciences. Furthermore, she encouraged the department to continue organizing such impactful initiatives that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, ensuring the holistic growth of every student.
