The rich heritage of Punjab was reflected at the premises of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara as the festival of Teej was celebrated with great festivity on Saturday. The event was organized by PG Department of Punjabi of the College.Tehsildar Mr. Parveen Chhiber was the Chief guest on the function President of College Managing committee Mr. I.K. Sardana & Principal Dr. Kiran Walia welcomed the Chief guest and other members of the college managing committee at the function Reminiscing his college days. Mr. Chhiber highlighted the importance of such events to provide a platform to students to show to provide a platform to students to show their talent. He also talked about the importance of girls in society and the need to save girl child.

During the celebrations, various cultural performances like folk song, folk dance, skit etc were given by students of the college. Van Mahautsav also organized by Phagwara Environment association. Mehndi competition was organized by the cosmetology department of the college.Best Performance Award was given to Group Dance performed on the song “Ki banu Duniya da”. Thebest performers of the event were: Parminder Kaur -1 st best performer, Amandeep Kaur -2 nd &SupriyaLamba-3 rd best performer. Winners of Mehndi Competition: Harsha-1 st , Dikshi-2 nd ;Kajal-1 st . Winners ofSlogan Writing: Manisha Rani-2 nd & Amandeep Kaur-3 rd .Principal Dr. Kiran Walia thanked the guests for being a part of the event and congratulated the organizers.
