Teej and Talent Hunt at KNCW

DC visits KNCW on the occasion of Teej and Talent Hunt
July 29, 2017: Celebrations marked the day on Saturday at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara as Talent Hunt, Teej and Tree Plantation was organized at the college premises. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Mohammad Tayyab was the chief guest at the occasion. SDM Jyoti Bala and S. Malkit Singh Raghotra and President College Managing Committee Mr. I K Sardanawere also present at the occasion. During the visit, the DC visited the college’s Heritage Centre in which traditional items related to Punjabi culture have been preserved. A special cultural performance was organized by the PG Department of Punjabi at the venue. Supporting KNC’s bid to save the environment the DC later planted trees at the botanical garden of the college. On the occasion, the DC appreciated the efforts of the college in preserving the environment and Punjabi culture. Earlier, the talent of KNCW made its presence felt at the talent hunt organized by the Department of Music. The students of various departments of the college displayed their talent in the items of Music, Dance and Theatre. The event was organized to look out for students who could represent the college in the upcoming Youth Festival. The judges for the event were Mr. Harnam Singh, Mr. Inderjit and Ms. Kiran Amar.Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Walia, Dr. Anita Gogna. Ms. Kiran Amar and Ms. Reema Madan Joshi gave away prizes to the winners and congratulated them on the occasion. Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Walia congratulated the students on the achievement and wished them all the best for the future.
