On the occasion of superannuation of Ms. Gurjit Kaur, Head of English, the entire family of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara gave a warm farewell to her at a special function held at college premises on Friday. President of College Managing Committee Mr. I K Sardana, members of college managing committee, College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia and the entire college staff attended the function.

Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia remembered the outstanding works done by Ms. Gurjit in the college and added that the college will always remember her as a very hard working and dedicated staff member. On the occasion, various performances by the department of music were held. Later, a PPT depicting the memories and achievements of Ms. Gurjit was presented and a citation was read by Ms. Aman Lata from English department.

On behalf of english department Ms. Manju Ahluwalia and on behalf of the staff members, staff secretary Dr. Ruminder Kaur spoke about her contribution during her professional career. Later, Ms. Gurjit and her family members were honoured by the members of the management, College Principal and staff members. Thanking the college for the celebration, Ms. Gurjit emotionally recalled her time spent in the college.  She added that the college is an integral part of her life and something that she will miss a lot in the coming days.
