To commemorate the occasion of National Integration day and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel, a special function was organized at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara on Tuesday. The function was organized by the PG department of Political Science and NSS unit of the college. During the event, the students of both the departments presented speeches and poems and sang patriotic songs. They also discussed the contribution of Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle of the country. A poster making competition was also organized by the NSS unit on the occasion in which Manisha Kumar Thapar of BA third semester stood first, Ramandeep Kaur of M. Com. first semester stood second and Simranjeet Kaur of B. Com. fifth semester stood third. College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia extended wishes to everyone on this day and also exhorted the youth to follow the footsteps of great leaders like Sardar Patel and maintain integrity and honour of the country.
