The entire staff and students of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara paid rich tributes to Shaheed E Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on his Martyrdom Day on Friday. The NSS unit of the college took out a rally on the issue of growing consumption of drugs among the youth of Punjab. On the occasion the students were motivated to follow the footsteps of Bhagat Singh and also administered them the oath of staying away from drugs. NSS incharges Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and Ms. Rajni led the rally.

Meanwhile, the department of History of the college organized poster making and slogan writing competitions on the theme of patriotism. Ms. Kamlesh from the department gave a talk on patriotism and students took a pledge of maintaining peace and harmony in the country. Principal of the College Dr. Kiran Walia remembered the sacrifice made by these three great souls made and motivated the students to follow their footsteps and become responsible citizens of the country.
