International Women’s Day celebrated at KNCW

Taking the theme of women empowerment forward, International Women’s Day was celebrated at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara with great pomp and show. Dr. Inderjit Kaur, President, All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (regd) was the chief guest on the function. Principle of the college, Dr. Kiran Walia and in charges of Women Cell of the college Dr. Anita Gogna, Ms. Kamlesh and Ms. Archna Walia gave her a floral welcome.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kaur motivated the girls to be proud of being a woman and work towards the betterment of the society. She gave message to the students for living simple, happy, Positive and peaceful life. She further said that we should be away from negative energy and have faith in god without being superstitious and serve the human in need. During the celebrations, the students of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication and department of Music gave dance performances highlighting the theme of Women empowerment. A documentary film on All India Pingalwara Charitable Society was also shown to the students.

College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia thanked Dr. Kaur for being a part of the celebration. While talking about the work being done by Pingalwara for the welfare of the downtrodden, she motivated the college students to take inspiration from Dr. Kaur and follow her footsteps.
