Department of science, Kamla Nehru College For Women, Phagwara organized an extension lecture on “Motivation for Science” on September 10, 2016(Saturday). Prof. (Dr.) Nareshpal Singh Saini, Professor and Head department of Physics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar enlightened the students of B.SC.(Sciences) on scope of sciences in masters and research. He also told the students about the current research held in the field of physical sciences. Prof. Saini also judged the “Scientoon Making Competition” organized by the department Muskan (B.SC.-NM) semester-1 bagged 1 st position in the scientoon making competiton whereas Krishma (B.SC.-computer science) semester-5 and Parampreet Kaur (B.SC.- computer) semester-5 held 2 nd and 3 rd positions respectively. Prof. Saini also interacted with the students of the department and motivated them to opt Science as prime subject. Dr. Kiran Walia, Principal of the college and all faculty members of the science department were also present in both the events. Dr. Walia congratulated the staff members and students for successfully hosting the events.
