A Speech and Slogan Writing Competition
The English Literary Society of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organized a Speech and Slogan Writing Competition on 9 March 2026 in the Audio Visual Lab to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event was held under the theme “Her Voice, Her Power, Her Justice” focusing on the topic “Women’s Role in Achieving Justice.”
Students enthusiastically participated in the competition and presented their views through powerful speeches and creative slogans highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment, equality, and justice in society. A total of 72 students attended the programme.
In the Slogan Writing Competition, Nancy (B.Sc. Economics, Semester IV) secured the First Position, while Sania Saini (BCA, Semester II) and Kamaljeet (B.Com, Semester II) jointly secured the Second Position. Kashish (B.Sc. Medical, Semester IV) bagged the third position. Certificates were given to all the participants.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Savinder Pal judged the Slogan Writing Competition and appreciated the creativity and thoughtful expressions of the students. In her address, she highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day and emphasized that women’s voices play an important role in promoting justice and equality in society. She also appreciated the efforts of the faculty members of the department and organisers for successfully conducting the event.
Dr. Ruminder Kaur, Vice- Principal, was also present on the occasion. Ms. Preeti said a few words for the Principal, acknowledging her encouragement and support on the occasion of Women’s Day.
The event concluded on a positive note with appreciation for the creativity, confidence, and insightful perspectives shared by the participants.
