Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, IQAC of Kamla Nehru College for Women (KNCW), Phagwara marked National Girl Child Day on 24th January 2026 with a thought-provoking celebration organized by Ek Bharat Shereshta Bharat, Home Science Association and Red Ribbon Club.

In the Audio Visual Lab, Dr. Priyanka Aeri delivered an engaging lecture on “Empowering Daughters, Enriching India”, showcasing a compelling power point presentation. She highlighted the remarkable achievements of iconic women leaders like Indira Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu, Kiran Bedi, and many more, inspiring the audience to break barriers and strive for excellence.

The event underscored KNCW’s commitment to women’s empowerment and fostering a supportive environment for girls to thrive, aligning with the spirit of National Girl Child Day. The celebration aimed to inspire and empower young minds, shaping a brighter future for the girl child.
About 55 students from different streams participated in the event, actively engaging with the empowering talk and drawing motivation from the examples of trailblazing women. Principal Dr. Savinder Pal lauded the efforts of EBSB, Home Science Association and Red Ribbon Club for organizing the resourceful lecture, emphasizing the need for such motivational talks to uplift girl students in the college.
