Annual Fete 2019 held at KNCW
Vande Mataram, this phrase brings goose bumps inside all of us, enlightens the essence of patriotism and integrity. Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated the Republic Day along with the annual fete which was a super success.
Mr. Gurbaksh Singh Parmar, Industrialist, Burma Electro Corporation, hoisted the flag followed by national anthem. Mr. Parmar along with Dr. Kiran Walia, Principal Kamla Nehru College for Women and other members of management inaugurated the event formally by ceremonial cutting of ribbon and releasing balloons. The theme for this year was ‘Republic Day’.
Mr. Harivansh Mehta, Mr. Ramesh kumar Jain, Mr. S.N Aggarwal, Shri. Baldev Raj, Mr. Rajinder Kumar Kunj, Mr. Pankaj Saradana, Mr. Harjeet Singh Parmar and Rakesh Bansal members of the management cell were also present for the event.
Various stalls were arranged for the students as well as the faculty members, which included food stalls, stalls for jewellery and stalls for phulkari dupattas. The students and staff of the college along with their family members enjoyed the rides, music and food stalls arranged during the event.
The whole attention was taken away by the brilliant baby show held at the fete which was a great success. The children from the age group 3-12 participated and were announced as winners under the category of Most Confident, Best Dance Performance, Beauty Queen and Cute Smile. Children bagged their prizes and were filled with more enthusiasm altogether.
This was followed by the announcement of the names of winners for Lucky Draw. The winners took home LED TV, Washing Machine, Sofa Set, Electric Oven, OTG, Geyser, Smart Phone, Quilt, DVD Player, Woofer Speakers and Blanket.
The event ended up by announcing the winner of the Tik-Tok Contest and the students later on hit the dance floor clicking and uploading their selfies on various social media sites. The principal Dr. Kiran Walia, enclosed the event with her precious words by congratulating everyone on the 70th Republic Day and encouraged everyone to hold up more shows like this.
