Under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the PG Department of Commerce of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organized an educational and recreational trip to Dharamshala and McLeodganj on 7 March 2026. A total of 39 students participated in the trip along with Teacher In-charge Ms. Nidhi Jassal, Ms. Simranjeet, and Ms. Poonam.

During the trip, the students visited the famous Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, where they admired the breathtaking view of the Dhauladhar mountain range and enjoyed the beautiful natural surroundings. The visit provided the students with an opportunity to explore the scenic beauty and cultural richness of the region.

In McLeodganj, the students visited Bhagsu Nag Temple, Bhagsu Waterfall, and the Dalai Lama Temple, where they learned about Tibetan culture, spirituality, and the peaceful way of life followed by the Buddhist community. The students also explored the vibrant McLeodganj market, experiencing the local culture and traditions.

The trip was also dedicated to celebrating the spirit of International Women’s Day, encouraging students to feel confident, empowered, and inspired while learning beyond the classroom.

Principal Dr. Savinder Pal appreciated the joint efforts of the Department of Commerce and congratulated the Head of the Department, Ms. Sanjna Walia, and the accompanying faculty members for successfully organizing the trip. She emphasized that such educational tours play an important role in broadening students’ knowledge, enhancing their learning experience, and providing exposure beyond the classroom.
