Two-Day Workshop on “Creativity to Start-Up – A Simulation Journey

Under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), commenced a two-day workshop titled “Creativity to Start-Up – A Simulation Journey: Empowering Ideas, Building Ventures, Simulating Success” on 1st August.
The workshop is aimed at channeling students’ creative potential into entrepreneurial thinking, guiding them on the path from job seekers to job creators.

On Day 1, Ms. Nidhi Jassal, Assistant Professor and resource person for the session, delivered an engaging presentation that emphasized the pivotal role of creativity in driving innovation. She illustrated how common problems can lead to powerful business ideas when viewed with a solution-oriented mindset.
Using relatable examples such as Selfie culture, PVR Cinemas, Ola Cabs, and Zomato, she explained how creative ideas have led to breakthrough innovations. The transformation of Foodiebay into Zomato was discussed in detail, showcasing how identifying a real-life challenge sparked the birth of a successful start-up.Students were introduced to the Business Model Canvas (BMC), a strategic tool to visualize and structure a business idea. Zomato was used as a case study to help students understand the practical application of the BMC framework.
Ms. Nidhi Jassal also introduced pioneering ventures like Holokitab and Selco Solar, highlighting how modern start-ups can integrate sustainability, technology, and social impact to address larger societal challenges.
Around 70 students, along with faculty members, actively participated in the session.
Principal Dr. Savinder Pal commended the efforts of the organizing team and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and encouraged them to think beyond traditional career paths and use innovation as a tool .
