An Extension Lecture on ‘Indian Knowledge System: Moral Education from the Vedas’

Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the Hindi Literary Society of Kamala Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, in collaboration with Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, organised an extension lecture on ‘Indian Knowledge System: Moral Learning from the Vedas’ on April 8, 2025.

Renowned scholar Dr. Vishwa Bandhu Sudhir (Former Principal, R.S.D. College, Ferozepur City) was the esteemed resource person. He was warmly welcomed and felicitated by Madam Principal.

Dr. Vishwa Bandhu highlighted the Vedas as a treasure trove of knowledge covering subjects like science, astrology, mathematics, medicine, music, and ethics. He explained the spiritual and symbolic significance of the sacred syllable ‘Om’, linking it to the Tridev—Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh—and described it as residing within the soul.

He stressed that mantras act as guiding forces, and that human actions should align with Vedic principles to promote righteousness and social harmony. He also elaborated on moral values emphasized in the Vedas—truth, duty, compassion, and Dharma—encouraging students to adopt them in daily life.

The interactive session was attended by 69 girl students. Dr. Savinder Pal appreciated the efforts of the organising team for hosting such a meaningful and insightful event.
