Placement, Awareness & Registration Drive

The Placement Cell of Kamla Nehru College for Women successfully organized a Placement, Awareness and Registration Drive for undergraduate students in collaboration with the Employment Exchange Office, Kapurthala. The initiative aimed at equipping students with valuable insights into employment opportunities, career planning, and government registration processes.
Dr. Varun Joshi, District Employment Officer was the keynote speaker on the occasion. Dr. Joshi elaborated in detail various schemes and internship programs introduced by the State Government for making aspiring Girl students self employed. He also stressed upon improving the awareness level among the students and staying away from useless reels available on the social media. He also guided students about the benefits and registration process of PM Internship Scheme.

The event was also graced with the Valuable session by Mr Johny Sharma, Assistant Branch Manager, LIC Phagwara alongwith Ms Monika, Development Officer, LIC Phagwara. Mr. Sharma guided the students regarding a very lucrative opportunity for the girl students i.e. Beema Sakhi, its registration procedure and remuneration structure designed to support youth employment.
Under the Placement Drive, students were fortunate to listen to and interact with Sh Satnam Singh Gill, Chief Zonal Manager from Pukhraj Pure Herbal and his team consisting of Ms Poonam, Manager and Mr Surjit Singh, Recruitment Manager.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 150 students belonging to various streams like Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer science, Fashion Designing, Economics and Cosmetology reflecting a keen interest among students to explore career avenues and enhance their employability skills.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr Ruminder Kaur, Officiating Principal, and Dr Savinder Pal, Director Academics, Kamla Nehru College For Women Phagwara.
