The Department of Punjabi at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organized an extension lecture on the topic “Practical Criticism: Theory and Practice.” The keynote speaker for the session was Dr. Sardul Singh Aujla, Principal, DIPS College, Dhilwan (Kapurthala).

The guest was warmly welcomed by Director Academics Dr. Savinder Pal, Officiating Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur, and the Punjabi Department with a plant as a token of gratitude.

Around 80 students participated enthusiastically in the lecture. In his address, Dr. Aujla emphasized the importance of understanding poetic language and its key elements while engaging in practical criticism. He also discussed the tools used to make the process more accessible and illustrated his points with well-presented poetic excerpts.

Dr. Ruminder Kaur expressed her gratitude to Dr. Aujla and fondly recalled his association with the college and the department. Dr. Savinder Pal appreciated the efforts of the Punjabi Department and encouraged organizing more such academic events in the future.
