Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, solemnly observed Kargil Vijay Diwas to honour the valour and sacrifices of the brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil War. The event was marked by patriotic fervour and deep respect for the nation’s heroes.

Students actively participated in various activities held to commemorate the day. Anchal and Radhika delivered impactful speeches that stirred emotions and inspired patriotism among the audience.
Anchal paid tribute with heartfelt words:
“Jo mit gaye watan ke liye, yaad unhe har pal karte hain,
Kargil ke un veeron ko hum dil se salaam karte hain.”

Radhika reflected on the significance of the day, stating,
“This day is not just about celebrating victory but also about paying respect to those who stood bravely to protect the country. Capt. Vikram Batra is known as the ‘Lion of Kargil’ of India.”

A poster-making activity was also organized where students Rosedeep, Gurbaksh, Tania, Zeba, and Divya creatively expressed their gratitude and admiration for the Indian Army through their artwork.

The program was graced by Principal Dr. Savinder Pal and Vice Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur, who appreciated the efforts of the students and reminded everyone of the importance of remembering the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers.

The college stands proud of its students for participating with enthusiasm and respect, making the day a meaningful tribute to the nation’s heroes.
