Space Revolution Day
Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the Department of Science, IQAC, and Prof. Puran Singh Society of Kamla Nehru College for Women organized week-long celebration of the “Space Revolution Day” a new national observance to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Prime Minister “Shri Narendra Modi Ji” and inspire young people toward space innovation with great enthusiasm from September 18-24, 2025. The event’s theme, “Innovation for India’s Better Future Space Programme,” highlighted the pivotal role of youth in shaping India’s burgeoning space sector.
The festivities began on September 18th, when teachers shared a curated list of informative links and resources with their students. These links included the information regarding major missions like Mangalyaan (MOM), Chandrayaan-3 , and Aditya L1.
The highlight of the week was a poster exhibition where around 24 students showcased their creativity and understanding of space science. The celebration culminated on September 24th with a seminar conducted by Ms. Isha Bhardwaj, Assistant Professor in Physics, providing deeper insights into the country’s space journey. Discussions centered on the historical milestones of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the impact of recent space reforms, and the emerging opportunities in the private space industry. The seminar underscored the government’s goal to make India a leading space power and encouraged students to consider careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The celebration successfully fostered a spirit of inquiry and patriotism, with around 50 students expressing enthusiasm about contributing to India’s space future.
Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal inspires the students to contribute to the future of space exploration and to continue the legacy of their nation’s space revolution.
