Shaheed Udham Singh Ji’s Martyrdom Day
Under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the Department of History and the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Society of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, organized a heartfelt tribute to honor the unparalleled martyrdom of Shaheed Udham Singh Ji.
On this solemn occasion, students shared their reflections on the life, struggle, and sacrifice of the great martyr. Manpreet Kaur (B.A. Part I), Isha, Shweta, Gagandeep (B.A. Part II), and Shivani (B.A. Part III) expressed their views through thought-provoking speeches. Students Komal Bagla, Shaily, and Tarnpreet (B.A. Part I), along with Priya and Mandeep (B.A. Part II), prepared impactful posters and slogans highlighting the ideals of Shaheed Udham Singh.
A PowerPoint presentation on key moments from Udham Singh’s life was presented by Kurna (B.A. Part III). Manreet Kaur efficiently anchored the event, which saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 100 students.
In her address, Principal Dr. Savinder Pal urged students to draw inspiration from Shaheed Udham Singh’s life and adopt discipline and purpose in their own journeys. She emphasized that his supreme sacrifice serves as a reminder that true freedom must never be compromised by servitude. She also shared insightful facts about his life, enriching students’ understanding of his legacy.
Dr. Savinder Pal commended the Department of History and the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Society for organizing the meaningful programme.
