The Department of JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION  & P G department of POLITICAL SCIENCE , Kamla Nehru college for women Phagwara in collaboration with IQAC , organized online webinar on the topic ” FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND EXPRESSION IN THE AGE OF MISINFORMATION . ” Dr.Rubal kanozia , Assistant Professor (JMC), Central University of Punjab, Bathinda was invited as keynote speaker. Ms. Prabhjot kaur, department of JMC introduced prof. Rubal kanozia then Dr. Rinka, dept of pol. sci welcomed prof kanozia . Professor kanozia discussed the article 19 of the indian constitution in which we have freedom of speech and expression . He also explained the effects of misinformation on the society. He gave the examples of covid -19 vaccine to prove his viewpoint . At last madam principal , Dr. Savinder pal extended vote of thanks and also gave opinion on the topic of discussion . she said ‘ we are celebrating world Press freedom day ‘. she also expressed her concern regarding effects if misinformation . she said press is authentic source of  information but now a day’s misinterpretation of the information has been done due to that the perceptions of people been changed in covid -19  time . she also appealed to all please don’t mishandle the information given by press because it harms our society
