Under the guidance of college Principal, Dr Savinder Pal , NSS Unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women organised Essay Writing and Speech Competition on the theme of ‘Importance of Blood Donation ‘. Around 20 students participated in this Competition. Students emphasised on the importance of blood donation and also explained it is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. This lifesaving care starts with one person making a generous donation. Programme officer, Ms. Nidhi Jassal said Blood donation is a very pious activity and an act of kindness and humanity that everyone should perform. Every blood doner is a life saver.Dr. Savinder Pal, College Principal addressed the students by saying that Donating Blood not only helps someone in need , but also offers health benefits for donors themselves. She motivated the students to generate awareness among people to donate blood especially by illustrating how blood donation has saved and changed millions of life.She also appreciated the efforts of Programme Officer Ms Nidhi Jassal for organising this event.
