Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal,NSS unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated National Youth Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Dr. Lalit kumar and Ms Nidhi Jassal,NSS programme Officers  explained the students that the objective of its celebration is to inspire the youth with the teachings, way of life and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. Speech competition was organised on this occasion. Dr. Savinder Pal, NSS Programme officers Dr. Lalit Kumar and Ms Nidhi Jassal, and faculty members along with volunteers planted saplings. Around 100 students participated in this event.Dr Savinder Pal, the college Principal, shed light on the contribution of Swami Vivekananada in Indian Independence Movement . Encouraging the students to follow his teachings, she said his ideas and ideals will continue to guide the countrymen. She also gave  her best wishes and congratulated the whole team for organizing this event.
