Martyrs’ Day Observance
Under the able guidance of the College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, the NSS Unit of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organized a solemn observance on 30th January 2026 to pay heartfelt tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation during India’s freedom struggle. On this occasion, a two-minute silence was observed as a mark of deep respect for their courage, dedication and supreme sacrifice.
On this occasion, the Vice Principal, Dr. Ruminder Kaur, addressed the students and created awareness about the significance of the freedom struggle, highlighting the immense sacrifices made by national heroes for the independence of India.
The programme was conducted in the presence of NSS Programme Officers Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Tavisha Singh, who encouraged the students to remember and honour the legacy of the freedom fighters and uphold the values of patriotism, unity and social responsibility.
Around 100 NSS volunteers and staff members were present during the observance. All the attendees paid their respects with gratitude, honouring the invaluable contributions of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the unity, integrity and dignity of the nation.
