Judo and Martial Art Session
The Department of Physical Education at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organized an enlightening Judo and Martial Arts session for its students, focusing on the importance of self-defence and athletic excellence.
The session was led by Mr. Kamal Kumar Jassal, an experienced Judo and Martial Arts instructor. The one-hour class was attended by enthusiastic students from +1 and +2 classes who showed great interest and participation.
During the session, Mr. Jassal provided in-depth knowledge about various self-defence techniques, basic Judo moves, and the significance of martial arts in developing physical and mental strength. He emphasized how these sports not only improve personal safety but also open pathways to national and international sports platforms.He encouraged the students to train professionally and highlighted how young women can pursue careers in Judo and Martial Arts, bringing pride to the nation by winning medals and representing India on global stages. Demonstrations of throws, defensive stances, and discipline in practice made the session highly impactful.
Dr. Savinder Pal , Principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the Physical Education Department and motivated students to actively take part in such programs that build character, confidence, and national spirit.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students clarified their doubts and showed eagerness to explore more opportunities in the field of sports.
