To commemorate the 76th Independence Day, History and Political Science department of Kamla Nehru College for women, Phagwara organised an extension lecture on the role of women in freedom, struggle. Principal Dr Savinder Pal acted as resource person and enlightened the students with her vast Knowledge and expertise in the field. She discussed the role of punjabi women in freedom movement of the nation. Ms Kamlesh, Head, Department of History explained the ‘Importance of Tiranga’ to the students audience. Students participated in the celebration by singing patriotic songs , poetical recitation and speeches on the theme of patriotism. Such efforts are a small tribute to the martyrs who laid their lives to bring independence to our nation. Seventy  three students attended the celebration and  promised to remember the unparallel sacrifices of martyrs.
