The department of music, Kamla Nehru College for Women Phagwara (Pb) organized a webinar on the topic “CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SUBJECT OF MUSIC-VOCAL”. The keynote speaker was Prof. Rampal Banga HOD, Music Department, Guru Nanak National College, Doraha. He was of the view that there are many opportunities in the subject of music-vocal like stage performer, playback singer, music director, background music director besides being a music teacher. He also explained that according to ‘New Education Policy’ music can be kept as a subject by the students of all the streams, may it be commerce, science or arts for that matter. Earlier only the students of arts had this opportunity. The keynote speaker also explained the nuances of music subject in detail and the queries made by the students were dully answered by the speaker. Honorable principal of the college Dr. Savinder Pal congratulated the organizers of this webinar. She also made it clear that students now can join hobby classes which are going to be started soon by the department of music.
