Day 5 of NSS Seven-Day Special Camp
Day 5 of the NSS Seven-Day Special Camp began with a morning assembly followed by physical exercises, instilling discipline, energy, and a positive start to the day. This was followed by wall painting activities, where volunteers creatively expressed socially relevant messages through visual art.
Two impactful wall paintings were created. The first conveyed the message “Punjabi Sikhye te Sikhaye”, emphasizing the importance of learning, preserving, and promoting the Punjabi language. The second focused on nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging youth to adopt innovation, creativity, self-reliance, and problem-solving skills. Simultaneously, cleanliness drives were conducted in the college office, corridors, seminar hall, and nearby areas, promoting hygiene, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility among volunteers.
The resource persons of the day were accorded a warm green welcome by the worthy Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal. The first guest speaker, Dr. Sarbjit Kaur, Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar, delivered an insightful lecture on the Indian Knowledge System. She highlighted naitikta (moral values), especially honesty, as the foundation of strong character, and enriched her talk with references from Tulsidas Ji ke dohe, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.
The second resource person, Mr. Yuvraj Sharma, Director, Epic Paradise, Jalandhar, delivered an inspiring lecture on entrepreneurship. He motivated students to think innovatively, focus on problem-solving, and develop qualities such as self-reliance, creativity, risk-taking, and perseverance. The session encouraged students to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option and recognize its role in economic development and employment generation.In the evening, the NSS Programme Officers organized recreational and team-based games to rejuvenate the volunteers.
