Phagwara, 08 April — A total of 37 meritorious and economically struggling students of Kamla Nehru College were awarded scholarships amounting to ₹74,000 under the Charanjit Singh Bassi Memorial Scholarship. The initiative is supported by the Phagwara Environment Association, while the Blood Bank organised the distribution of the scholarships.

On the occasion, Mr. M. S. Raghbotra, President of the Blood Bank, addressed the students and shared inspiring insights from the life of late Charanjit Singh Bassi, highlighting his generosity and noble spirit. He also distributed the scholarship cheques to the selected students.

Mr. Raghbotra expressed his gratitude to Dr. Savinder Pal, Director Academics, and officiating Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur, for their initiative in bringing this scholarship to the college and for their continuous efforts in supporting academic growth.
The college also extended special thanks to Mr. K. K. Sardan, Managing Director of Sukhjit Starch and Chemicals Limited, Phagwara, (President of the Phagwara Environment Association), along with Prof Jaswant Singh Gandam, the honorary secretary of the Bassi Trust, who are currently overseeing the implementation of the scheme in collaboration with the Blood Bank.
