Under the esteemed guidance of Director Academics Dr. Savinder Pal and Officiating Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur Experiential learning session was organised by Home Science association for the students of Nanny Care and Nutrition on 24-25 March, 2026.
During the experiential learning all the students of Nanny Care and Nutrition visited ABC Montessori Play school, Phagwara. Students got real life stimulation of early childhood education, they engaged with preschoolers in their sports activities, fun learning and helps preschoolers to learn various skills through play. They got the knowledge how to handle preschoolers in different circumstances and how to plan various activities for wholesome development of preschoolers. Students played games which helps to develop cognitive , motor skills and eye-hand coordination of preschoolers.
The overall event was well received by both nanny care students as well as preschoolers with numerous interactive activities to ensure and enriching experiences for all involved.
Fashion Designing Society Organises Two-Day Workshop on Pidilite Lippan Art and Fabric Painting Techniques
The Fashion Designing Society of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, successfully organised a two-day workshop on Pidilite Lippan Art and Fabric Painting Techniques on March 25 and March 27, 2026, under the esteemed guidance of the Director Academics, Dr. Savinder Pal. The event aimed to enhance the practical skills of students, particularly in the creation of decorative wall hangings using traditional art techniques. The occasion was graced by the presence of Dr. Ruminder Kaur, Officiating Principal.

In a conscious and progressive initiative, the department chose not to invite external experts for the workshop. Instead, it encouraged and empowered its own students by providing them with a platform to plan, conduct, and lead such academic activities.A total of 33 students actively participated in the workshop.

Day 1 (25 March 2026) – Lippan Art Day:
The first day focused on Lippan art, a traditional craft known for its intricate mirror work and textured designs. Students of MSc Fashion Designing and Merchandising took the lead in conducting a hands-on demonstration for BSc Fashion Designing students. They introduced various techniques involved in creating wall hangings using mouldit.

Day 2 (27 March 2026) – Fabric Painting Techniques:
The second day of the workshop focused on fabric painting techniques such as stencil printing, freehand painting, and block printing. Once again, student instructors led the sessions, demonstrating the use of tools, colors, and patterns while guiding participants through each step. Participants learned how each technique can be used to create unique and attractive designs. During the practical session, students designed and decorated handbags, which helped them explore their creativity and improve their skills in textile decoration, design sense, and artistic expression.
