Students Gain Practical Exposure at Alpha Pathology Lab

The final-year B.Sc. Medical students of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara undertook an educational visit to Alpha Pathology Lab as part of their academic curriculum. The visit was organized under the guidance of faculty member Ms. Shruti with the aim of providing students with hands-on experience and practical insight into clinical laboratory procedures.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by CEO and Director Dr. Puneet Saroay and Operational Manager Pankaj Paswan. The officials introduced the students to the functioning of the laboratory and emphasized the critical role of accuracy and precision in diagnostic testing.
During the visit, students explored various sections of the lab, including hematology, biochemistry, and microbiology units. They observed key diagnostic procedures such as blood sample collection, processing, and analysis. The experts also demonstrated advanced medical instruments and explained the safety protocols followed in clinical laboratories.
An interactive session was conducted where students actively engaged with the experts, asking questions related to testing procedures, career opportunities in pathology, and recent advancements in medical diagnostics. The session proved to be highly informative and enriching.
The visit effectively bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, offering valuable insights into laboratory management, quality control, and professional ethics in healthcare services.
Dr. Savinder Pal, Director Academics and Vice-Principal Dr Ruminder Kaur of the college, congratulated the Department of Science for organizing such an informative visit and encouraged the faculty and students to continue striving for excellence and growth in the field of science and healthcare.
