Under the able leadership of the College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Club, NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara jointly celebrated World Cancer Day.

On this occasion, an extension lecture on the theme “Lifestyle and Cancer Prevention” was organised. The resource person, Dr. Priyanka Aeri, delivered an informative and insightful lecture in which she explained the concept of cancer, its common symptoms, major risk factors and the importance of early detection. She also sensitised the students about adopting a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of cancer.

A poster making competition was also organised to encourage creative expression and to spread awareness among students regarding cancer prevention.

Addressing the volunteers, Principal Dr. Savinder Pal emphasised the need to spread awareness in society about cancer and highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise and responsible habits for cancer prevention. She also appreciated the sincere and joint efforts of the organising committee for successfully conducting the awareness programme.

Around 70 students and staff members actively attended the lecture and participated in the programme.

The programme concluded with enthusiastic participation of students and volunteers, reinforcing the institution’s commitment towards health awareness and social responsibility.
