Principal Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur Delivers Key Address at ICHR-Sponsored National Seminar

Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur, Principal, Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, was invited as a Resource Person at the ICHR-Sponsored One Day National Seminar organised under the aegis of IQAC by the Post Graduate Departments of History and Punjabi at Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, on January 30, 2026. The seminar, held in the College Auditorium, was centred on the theme “Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji: Defender of Religious Liberty and Human Dignity.”

The seminar commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by distinguished dignitaries including members of the Management, Dr. Mukti Gill (Director of the College), Madam Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal , Dr Pritpal Singh , Vice- Chancellor, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University , Dr Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, Former Vice- Chancellor, Central University , HP, Dr. Narinderjit Kaur (Head, Department of Punjabi), Ms. Ramandeep Kaur (Head, Department of History), Dr Vinod , Deputy Director , ICHR and Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur, Principal, Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara.

Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur addressed the gathering during the First Technical Session, where she reflected profoundly on the teachings and supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. She emphasised that Guru Ji’s martyrdom stands as an unparalleled example of courage, religious tolerance, and commitment to human dignity. She further highlighted that His Bani continues to serve as a guiding light for humanity in contemporary times.

Adding further academic contribution from Kamla Nehru College for Women, Mr. Harpreet Singh, Department of English, also presented a research paper exploring the intertextual resonance in Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Bani, highlighting how it functions as a bridge across spiritual, philosophical, and literary traditions .
Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur’s participation as a distinguished Resource Person, along with the scholarly contribution of Mr. Harpreet Singh, brought pride to Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara.
