Lohri Festival Celebrated as “Dhiyaan Di Lohri” at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara
Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated the Lohri festival in the form of “Dhiyaan Di Lohri” with great joy and enthusiasm under the able leadership of the College Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal. The celebration aimed to promote love, respect, and blessings for girl children in society.

College staff members brought their dhiyaan (daughters) to be a part of this vibrant celebration. The programme began with the lighting of the traditional bonfire, around which everyone gathered to seek blessings and enjoy the festive spirit. Young girls and staff members performed traditional Punjabi dances, adding colour, energy, and cultural richness to the occasion.

On this auspicious occasion, Principal Madam distributed gifts to all the dhiyaan as a token of love and encouragement. Both teaching and non-teaching staff members were present and actively participated in the celebrations, making the event warm and memorable.

After the bonfire and dance performances, traditional refreshments were served to all present, which further enhanced the joy of the festival. The celebration concluded on a happy note, spreading the message of happiness, unity, and respect for girl children.
