Day 4 of NSS Seven-Day Special Camp Theme: “Empowering Youth for India – Youth for My Bharat”

Day 4 of the NSS Seven-Day Special Camp commenced with a morning prayer followed by warm-up exercises to instill discipline, positivity, and physical fitness among the volunteers. The session was followed by refreshments.

Subsequently, NSS volunteers, actively participated in a cleanliness drive across the college campus. The drive covered the seminar hall, classrooms, and surrounding premises, aiming to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and a strong sense of civic responsibility among the youth.

The Principal of the College, Dr. Savinder Pal, accorded a green welcome to the esteemed resource persons by presenting saplings as a symbol of environmental consciousness and gratitude.

The first eminent resource person, Dr. Akhil Raj, Consultant Neurosurgeon and Head Researcher (Gut–Brain Axis and Autoimmune Conditions), delivered an insightful extension lecture on “Food–Brain–Gut–Lifestyle Cycle: Empowering Teens with Insight into Their Developing Brains.” He highlighted the deep interconnection between diet, gut health, brain function, and lifestyle, emphasizing that many diseases originate in the gut. His simplified explanations of neurons, synapses, and neurotransmitters, supported by engaging videos and practical tips to boost serotonin levels, made the session highly informative, interactive, and impactful.

The second session was conducted by Dr. Prabhjot Jabal, AMO (RBSK), SDH, Phagwara, who delivered a practical and hands-on lecture on first aid and emergency care. He demonstrated CPR techniques and explained the management of common emergencies such as nosebleeds, burns, bruises, fainting, low blood sugar, hypertension, stroke, epilepsy, and heart-related conditions.

In addition, the volunteers enthusiastically engaged in wall painting, pot painting, and tree painting activities, beautifying the campus while spreading messages of environmental awareness, cleanliness, and social responsibility through creative expressions.
