Day 3 of NSS Seven-Day Special Camp
The third day of the NSS Seven-Day Special Camp commenced with morning exercise and warm-up activities, followed by a prayer session to instill discipline, positivity, and collective spirit among the volunteers. After refreshments, the NSS volunteers actively engaged in wall painting activities, promoting cleanliness, creativity, and social awareness.
The academic session began with a green greeting accorded by the Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, who warmly welcomed the resource person, Dr. Punit Puri, Head, Post Graduate Department of Zoology; Dean Alumni; Coordinator, IIC Innovative Activities; and Overall Coordinator, DAV College, Jalandhar. He delivered an enlightening lecture on innovation and opportunities for youth, highlighting various government initiatives and schemes for entrepreneurship. By sharing real-time scenarios and practical insights, he motivated students to explore self-employment opportunities and convert innovative ideas into sustainable ventures.
Following the lecture, the NSS volunteers participated in a cleanliness drive, along with painting of pots and trees, contributing to campus beautification and environmental consciousness. The activities were followed by a community lunch, fostering teamwork, cooperation, and camaraderie among the volunteers.
In the second session, Ms. Nidhi Jassal, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and NSS Programme Officer, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on “Youth as the Torchbearers of Viksit Bharat 2047.” She highlighted the pivotal role of youth in nation-building and emphasized the responsibility of every citizen in realizing India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Her address inspired volunteers to imbibe values of accountability, civic duty, and proactive participation in societal development.
The day concluded with renewed enthusiasm and a deeper sense of purpose, reinforcing the spirit of service, innovation, and national commitment envisioned by the NSS.
