Inaugural Ceremony of NSS Seven-Day Special Camp
Under the able leadership of the college Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, NSS unit of the college organised a seven-day special camp on the theme “Empowering Youth for India: Youth for My Bharat” from 13 December to 19 December 2025. The inaugural ceremony began with flag hoisting, tree plantation and ribbon cutting by the chief guest, Dr. Amarjit Singh, Former Professor of Veterinary Pathology-cum-Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology & Financial Comptroller, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, along with the college Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, Ms Sanjna Walia, NSS Programme Officers, Ms Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Tavisha, Dr Lalit, Mr. Kuldip Singh. A soulful Shabad was sung, creating a devotional and positive atmosphere. This was followed by a floral welcome of the Chief Guest.
The NSS Programme Officer, Ms Nidhi Jassal, addressed the volunteers and explained the objectives and significance of the camp. She highlighted the 49-year journey of NSS unit of the college, emphasizing its dedication to nation-building, youth empowerment, and selfless service. She underscored the importance of setting clear goals to achieve success.
The chief guest delivered an extension and motivational lecture. He discussed the motto of NSS, the role of youth in nation-building, and explained the concept of “My Bharat” by interpreting each letter, motivating students to become responsible citizens. He also emphasized how youth can be inspired through entrepreneurship, encouraging them to take initiative, innovate, and create opportunities for themselves, motivating students to become responsible and dedicated citizens. A video showcasing activities from previous NSS camps was shown, reflecting teamwork and dedication over the years.
The programme also included the NSS song performed by the volunteers. 100 NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically in this camp.
After lunch, a cleanliness drive was conducted in the parking area and stadium. The evening session also included pot painting and tree painting.
