Kamala Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, proudly celebrates a momentous achievement as its Girls Team brought home the Gold Medal at the 10th Junior State Amateur Ball Badminton Championship 2025–26. The championship was held on 29–30 November 2025 at D.S.S.D. Senior Secondary School, Sodal Road, Jalandhar. Representing the Jalandhar District Team, the college players delivered an outstanding performance that secured this remarkable victory.
Under the expert guidance and mentorship of Ms. Shubhasmita Sahoo, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, the students displayed exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination throughout the tournament. Their dedication was instrumental in leading the team to the top position.

The college proudly acknowledges the Gold Medal winners in the Junior Level Category: Shivani (B.A. 5th Semester), Jaismeen (B.A. 1st Semester), Mannat (B.A. 1st Semester), Himanshu Bhardwaj (B.A. 1st Semester), and Bhavisha (B.Voc 5th Semester). Their stellar performance has set a high benchmark for sporting excellence on campus.
Further adding to the college’s pride, Nikita (B.A. 5th Semester) and Amanpreet Kaler (B.A. 5th Semester) have been selected for the Senior Level State Championship, showcasing the institution’s growing strength in sports.

The Principal, Dr. Savider Pal, warmly congratulated the team, offered them sweets as a token of appreciation, and extended her best wishes for their future endeavours in sports as well as their academic pursuits.
