On the occasion of the 118th birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat organized panel discussion under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal on Sept. 29th 2025 under the theme of “ Sacrifice for the Nation “.
The discussion served as a powerful reminder of the ultimate price paid by the young revolutionary and his comrades, Sukhdev and Rajguru, and its profound impact on the freedom movement.
Dr. Priyanka Aeri delved into the difference between simply paying homage and actively incorporating the spirit of Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice into modern life. She stated, “Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice was not merely a tragic end; it was a conscious political act to galvanize the masses. He knew his death would serve a greater purpose than his life. For today’s youth, ‘sacrifice’ translates into unwavering commitment to social justice, fighting corruption, and building an equitable society free from all forms of exploitation.”
Student panelists had deep discussion on the revolutionary’s intellectual depth and socialist ideals.The discussion also connected the revolutionary’s ideals to current civic responsibilities, urging students to move beyond passive patriotism.
Principal Dr. Savinder Pal also commended that Bhagat Singh famously said, “Crush your individuality first. Shake off the dreams of personal comfort.” He challenges us to rise above self-interest and careerism to contribute meaningfully to the community. She encouraged the students by saying that “Your sacrifice today might be giving up comfortable silence to speak out against injustice, or giving up personal time to mentor someone in need”.
