To commemorate National Nutrition Week, the Department of Home Science and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education, organized a rejuvenating Yoga and Mindfulness session under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal on Sept. 12th 2025.
Dr. Pal graced the occasion by joining the session, setting the tone for an engaging and informative event.
The event commenced with Madam Sahoo, yoga expert, expertly demonstrating a series of yoga asanas tailored to promote physical and mental well-being. 56 students enthusiastically participated, adopting the various postures and breathing techniques that Madam Shubhasmita Sahoo meticulously guided them through.
Following the demonstration, Dr. Priyanka Aeri delivered an insightful lecture on the significance of yoga and mindfulness in everyday life. She highlighted the numerous benefits of incorporating yoga into one’s daily routine, including enhanced physical flexibility, improved mental clarity, reduced stress levels, and a boosted immune system.
Dr. Aeri further emphasized the importance of mindfulness in today’s fast-paced world, where individuals often find themselves overwhelmed by stress and anxiety. She explained how mindfulness practices, such as meditation and deep breathing, can help individuals cultivate a greater sense of awareness, leading to improved emotional regulation, better decision-making, and enhanced overall well-being.
Through this engaging session, students gained a deeper understanding of the profound impact that yoga and mindfulness can have on their physical and mental health. The event served as a valuable opportunity for students to adopt healthy habits and practices that can benefit them throughout their lives.
During this event, Madam Vaishali and Madam Isha were also present.
