Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organised a splendid fresher’s party for welcoming the newly admitted students of 10+1 and first year and Talent Hunt to unleash and boost the exceptional talent of the students on August 08,2025. Ms. Sandeep Nandra, Dr. Kamlesh, Dr. Sudhamani, Dr. Rinka Janjua ,and Dr. Lalit kumar were the organizers of the event.
Lit with enthusiasm and excitement, all the students displayed their artistic acumen by performing various cultural items including group dance, solo dance, songs and bhangra. The rounds of modelling by the freshers spell bounded the whole audience.
Shortlisted students reached in the question round and later were adjudged by the judges, Madam Supreeti, Activity Coordinator of Kamla Nehru Public School, and Madam Balwinder, Activity Coordinator of Kanya Mahavidyalaya.
Bhavni from Degree College was crowned as ‘Miss KNC Fresher’ Sania and Riya bagged the title of first runner up and second runner up respectively. Nitika and Tarinderjeet Kaur were selected as ‘Miss Confident’ and ‘Miss Elegant’ respectively. From Junior college, Tavleen Kaur was declared as ‘Miss KNCJC Fresher’, Samiksha and Anmol Kaur were chosen as first runner up and second runner up respectively. Mehakpreet and Mantej Kaur got the title of ‘Miss Confident’ and ‘Miss Graceful’ respectively.
Ms. Meenu Gupta from Government Senior Secondary School graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of Honour. In her inspiring address, she congratulated the freshers for becoming part of an institution known for academic excellence and vibrant extracurricular culture.
The College Principal warmly welcomed the new students and urged them to dream big and work with dedication. Emphasising them to rise to great heights through discipline, resilience, and a positive mindset, she thanked the Guest of Honour Principal Meenu Gupta, Vice Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur, the judges, the organizing team, and the students for making the day memorable, and congratulated all the winning students. The event concluded with refreshments arranged for the entire gathering.
