Justice Awareness Seminar Organized at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara.
Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, the Legal Literacy Cell and Red Ribbon Club of Kamla Nehru College for Women organized a seminar on the theme “Justice Awareness for Grassroots: Rural Information and Transparency Initiative” to sensitize students about their legal rights and social responsibilities.
The session, conducted by Ms. Rajni Bala (Panel Advocate), focused on key issues such as rape case prevention, traffic rules, drug abuse, and the significance of personal safety. She advised students to confide in their mother or a trusted teacher in case of any inappropriate behavior and stressed the importance of education and a drug-free lifestyle.
Participants were briefed on important government schemes, including:Free Legal Aid Services available at court help desks for women dealing with in-law disputes, divorce, and other issues,Pension Scheme providing ₹2,000 per month for children aged 6–18 who lose their parents,National Lok Adalat & Mega Lok Adalat initiatives for speedy and affordable justice.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 100 students. Principal Dr. Savinder Pal addressed the gathering, encouraging students to approach her with any issues for prompt assistance in coordination with Ms. Rajni Bala. She motivated students to lead responsible lives and make informed decisions.
The event was effectively coordinated under the leadership of Dr. Rinka and Ms. Priyanka, with active support from faculty members.
