International Yoga Day

Under the able guidance of the college Principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, the NSS Unit and NCC Wing of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to wellness.

The celebration witnessed the active participation of around 100 volunteers, who gathered to embrace the ancient practice of yoga for physical and mental well-being.

The yoga session was conducted by Madam Shubhasmita Sahoo from the Sports Department, who trained the volunteers with detailed instructions and demonstrated the correct postures and breathing techniques. The session began with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, followed by a series of yoga asanas including Padmasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Hastapadasana, Paschimottanasana, Hasya Asana, Shavasana, and Badhakonasana (Butterfly Pose).

College Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, Vice Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur, NSS Programme Officers Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Lalit Kumar, and faculty member Mr. Harjinder Singh were also present during the event.

Principal Dr. Savinder Pal addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for maintaining a balanced body and mind. She appreciated the commendable efforts of NSS Programme Officers Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Dr. Lalit Kumar, as well as the NCC team, for successfully organizing the event and motivating the youth towards a healthier lifestyle.
