World Anti-Tobacco Day
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, organized a special awareness event on the occasion of World Anti-Tobacco Day on 31st May 2025. The initiative aimed to sensitize students about the severe health risks associated with tobacco use and to promote a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle.
The program began at 11:00 a.m. in the Audio Visual Lab, featuring two impactful activities:
Poster-Making Competition
Declamation Contest
A total of 25 students participated in the event, expressing their creativity and concern through powerful posters and persuasive speeches. The participants highlighted the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and the importance of quitting tobacco to lead a healthier life.
The event was successfully conducted under the joint efforts of the Science Department and the Red Ribbon Club, whose dedication made the program both meaningful and impactful.
Dr. Savinder Pal, Principal of the college, lauded the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the faculty and student participants. She encouraged the students to spread the message of anti-tobacco awareness beyond the campus and become advocates of healthy living in their communities.
