Emergency Mock Drill to Enhance Preparedness

Kamla Nehru College for Women conducted a comprehensive ‘Emergency Mock Drill’ today, aimed at preparing students and staff to effectively respond to unforeseen situations. The drill was organized by the Emergency Drill Cell, NCC, and NSS Unit of the college.

Around 100 students actively participated in the session. The event was graced by Principal Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur and Vice Principal Dr. Ruminder Kaur, along with esteemed faculty members including Dr. Rinka Janjua, Ms. Khushi, and Emergency Drill Cell members Ms. Nidhi Jassal and Ms. Shubhasmita Sahoo.

Ms. Shubhasmita Sahoo conducted an informative session highlighting key aspects of emergency preparedness. She spoke about handling **blackout situations** and emphasized the importance of storing essential items like **torches, power banks, and candles**. She urged students to rely only on **official sources of information** and avoid spreading or believing in rumors.

Participants were educated on procedures to follow upon hearing an emergency **siren** and were trained in **basic CPR**, **fire evacuation techniques**, and methods to **transport injured persons without a stretcher**.

The session concluded with insightful advice from Principal Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur, who encouraged students to **stay calm during emergencies** and act responsibly to ensure everyone’s safety.

The successful drill emphasized the college’s commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of its community in any crisis.
