Health Awareness Camp in Village Chak Hakim to Mark World Health Day

In celebration of World Health Day on April 7, 2025, Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara, under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. Savinder Pal, organized a Health Awareness Camp in the village of Chak Hakim. The initiative was jointly conducted by the NSS Unit, Home Science Association, and the Red Ribbon Club, with the objective of promoting healthy living and community well-being.

With the support of Sarpanch Barun Bangar, NSS Programme Officer Ms. Nidhi Jassal, Red Ribbon Club Officer Ms. Priyanka, and Ms. Vishali from Nanny Care, the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the villagers and the college team. About 30 volunteers actively took part in the outreach activities.

Students and faculty members visited the local primary schools and nearby neighborhoods, engaging with villagers, women, and students. They spread awareness about key health issues such as the importance of nutrition, regular physical activity, and mental wellness. Informative sessions were held on preparing nutritious meals using locally available ingredients, alongside special talks on stress management and maintaining mental health.

Volunteers gave the message “Healthy Living, Happy Life!” to school students and villagers, encouraging them to prioritize their physical and mental well-being.

The camp successfully reached a wide section of the community, imparting valuable health education and inspiring people to adopt healthier lifestyles. The initiative reflected the college’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and holistic development.
