Under the guidance of UGC New Delhi and All India Council for Education, in continuation of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Department of History and Political Science of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ to mark the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. A documentary highlighting the journey of a tribal boy who rose to  become Bhagwan Birsa Munda and his fight against the exploitative system of the British colonial government  was shown to the students to make them aware of the sacrifices of tribal freedom fighters who have been unsung heroes of freedom struggle. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Savinder Pal, the college principal said Revolution does not end with the life of these legends it remains forever in the form of teachings which continue to inspire the future generations to follow their footsteps.
