A magnificent sports extravaganza was organized at Kamla Nehru College for Women on April 1, 2022. The Annual Sports Meet was organised under the able guidance of college principal Dr. Savinder Pal by the organising committee Madam Rinka, Madam Manvinder, Mr. Sandeep Walia, Madam Palvinder and Madam Sunita. The meet was graced by chief guest Mr. Anshuman Sekhri, Principal, Vinay Public High School, Goraya, Guest of honour Ms. Rita Thapar, Principal, S.D Putri Pathshala Girls sr. sec. School, Hadiyabad along with Special guests Mr. Kulkaran and Mr. Sanjeevan Bhanot who were all given a floral welcome.All the students participated with great fervour and manifested their athletic skills with an unimpeachable finesse. Dr.Asha Sharma and Mr. Sandeep Walia enthusiastically conducted the stage and announced the winners. In the sack race Diksha stood first, Simran Kaur  stood second and Pooja got third position. In the three-legged race Jasmeet and Diksha stood first, Jasveer and Roshni stood second and Jahanvi and Diksha of got third position. In the 50m race Manjot stood first, Saloni stood second and Jahanvi  got third position. In the relay race Saloni, Manjot, Jasvir and Simran stood first, Jahanvi, Pooja, Diksha and Pushpa stood second and  Nisha, Jasmeen, Ramandeep and Amanjot got third position. In the skipping race Saloni stood first, Simran Kaur stood second and Diksha got third position. In the lemon and spoon race Pooja stood first, Saloni stood second and Simran Kaur got third position. The tug of war was won by team Jahanvi, Diksha, Harman, Jasmeet, Anjali, Pushpa, Pooja, Sanjana, Neetu and Diksha. At last Matka race was won by Saloni, Simran Kaur got second position and third position was bagged by Jahanvi . The chief guest Mr. Anshuman Sekhri expressed his delight on the exemplar performance put forth by students of the college and encouraged the girls to achieve still greater heights in their lives. Speaking on the occasion, special guest Sanjeevan Bhanot lauded the efforts of the institution for ensuring an all-round development of its students whilst also stressing the importance of such events to be constantly run parallel to the academics. Principal Dr. Savinder Pal expressed her happiness over the success of the programme and delivered the vote of thanks in which she expressed her gratitude towards all the dignitaries who graced the occasion with their bening presence and lauded the efforts of the students who showed such brilliance in their performance.  The event came to an end with the nation anthem.
