World book and copyright day was celebrated in the college library under the able guidance of college principal Dr. Savinder Pal by the College library and department of computer science. On this occasion a lecture was organised on the topic “Internet and Copyright” in which as a keynote speaker Madam Hardeep  Kaur Parmar professor in computer department was invited to share views on the topic. Madam Ruby, college librarian welcomed the chief guest Dr savinder pal, all the staff members and the students. In the lecture madam Hardeep shared her valuable opinion views on the topic in which she said, “internet nowadays is becoming an essential necessity from which a person cannot stay away but there are still some people who are trying to use it to its disadvantage and plagiarise  work done by other people, which is theft of thought and opinion and also highly punchable punishable.” Expressing her views on the topic madam principal also stressed on the importance of ethical practices while using internet and to be true to ourself and not coping work by other people, she motivated the students to never plagiarise works done by others and present it as their own, this not only demoralise the original author but also makes the student in-capable of being true to their own thoughts. She appreciated the efforts of the organisers and for more such events to happen in future.
