Under the guidance of college principal, Dr. Savinder Pal, NSS unit in collaboration with Fine Arts department of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara organised a programme under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign to educate masses against gender bias and improve efficacy of welfare services for girls. Students expressed their views through Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition. Volunteers took out a rally holding posters conveying messages like – ‘Give girls the wings to fly’ , ‘Not the pain to cry and Die and Change your mind, Son and Daughter are the same. Dr. Savinder Pal, college principal said that girls are the pride of the country, if girls survive, the earth will survive. She also lauded Dr Sudhamini Sood Head Department of Fine Arts and  Programme Officer, Ms Nidhi Jassal for organising this programme.
