Department of Sciences, Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara celebrated ‘World Environment Day’ on June 02, 2022 where students shared their ideas on conservation of environment by making posters through online mode. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Tirath Ram Basra, Principal, N.J.S.A. Govt. College, Kapurthala. Dr. Savinder Pal, College Principal and Mr. Ramesh Jain (Member of Management) formally welcomed the chief guest followed by plantation drive in the college premises and its surroundings. The primary objective of this celebration was to make students aware about the degradation of environment due to different man-made activities and to conserve it by adopting significant remedial measures. Dr. Savinder Pal, the college Principal motivated all the participants and urged them to protect the environment. She further added that it is every individual’s duty to save mother earth from all evils of environmental pollution and degradation. She congratulated the faculty of the Department for hosting this event and encouraged them to organize such events in the future.
